Wanda L. Taylor

Wanda L. Taylor, 89, of Tamaroa, passed away at 1:25 A.M., Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.

Wanda was a homemaker.  She was a member of the Tamaroa Christian Church.  She was a former member of Perry County Home Bureau and a Sunday School Teacher for many years.  She loved to garden and work with her flowers.  Being a Grandmother and Great Grandmother was the joy of her life.  She loved to attend sporting activities of her great grandchildren.
She was born October 20, 1918 at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Vallie and Lillie (Heape) House.

She married Lawrence E. Taylor on December 16, 1939 at Perry County, IL and he preceded her in death on May 27, 1997.

She is survived by one son - Grant Taylor and wife Peggy of Tamaroa, one daughter - Marilyn Taylor of Tamaroa, three grandchildren - Kelley Searby and husband Jim of Tamaroa, Trina Conte and husband Bob of Omaha, NE, and Rick Taylor and wife Mandy of Tamaroa, great grandchildren - Josh Searby, Matt Searby, Garrett Conte, Zach Conte, Bailey Taylor and Cole Taylor, nieces and nephews - Barbara Waller, Bonnie Franklin, Sharon Hagston, Janice Carron, Marsha Gift, Scott House, Rodney Tuthill, and Larry Taylor, and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister - Gladys Opp, one brother - Charles House, and one niece - Christy House.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Tamaroa Christian Church in Tamaroa with Bro. Arven Kirkpatrick officiating.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 P.M., Tuesday at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa and from 9 A.M. until the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.

Friends may make memorials to the Tamaroa Christian Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
